I for sure didn’t. I had been told that I “should start talking to coaches” but I truly had no idea what that entailed. In grade 11 I occasionally made email drafts to certain schools but never had the courage to send them. Then in the summer after I ran a time that placed me in the prospects for Division 1 schools, I started to reach out by filling out questionnaires and sending emails. However, I still had absolutely no idea what I was doing. The process
how it works
Introductions
We like to hit the ground running, and will get right to work in our initial meeting. This “introduction” will include information gathering to create a personalized academic plan and timeline, to broadly outline the path forward and enable the student to articulate personal goals.
Outreach
There’s no right or wrong time to start working with Bloom. We pride ourselves on our personalized, flexible approach, and our resulting ability to accommodate students in any time zone, regardless of their schedules.
Regular Meetings and Goal Check-ins
Once the plan has been made, the student and consultant will work together to create a consistent schedule that meets the needs of the student in the most efficient way possible. As the student makes progress, there will be continual check-ins that affirm positive change, identify new areas for improvement, and reevaluate short and long term goals.

Salima F. Rasul
Bloom was established by Salima F. Rasul, who has extensive professional experience guiding students through the complexities of the admissions process, helping students gain entrance to programs that include private, independent, undergraduate, and graduate schools across the US, Canada, and abroad. Through her educational background and previous work in this field, she is uniquely qualified to assist students in finding their fit and helping them achieve their educational goals.
